It started with a name.
My daughter's name is Ke'Ari. The "K" in Queen K is her first initial, a way to put her into everything I build without putting her name on display. When I started making candles in my kitchen in 2023, I knew whatever I built had to carry a piece of her in it. Queen K wasn't a branding decision. It's a tribute.
How it actually works
I don't outsource my scents. Every fragrance you smell in a Queen K candle, wax melt, or room spray started in my own recipe notebook, pages of notes on fragrance oil ratios, burn tests, and combinations that didn't work before I landed on the ones that did. Amber Skies took months of tweaking before the jasmine to sandalwood ratio felt right. Pure Serenity went through three versions before it actually felt serene instead of just "spa-scented."
That's the part most candle companies skip over: the trial and error. I still keep every failed batch written down, because sometimes the thing that didn't work becomes the base for something that does.
What Queen K actually stands for
- I make it myself. From the fragrance blending to the pouring to the packing, this is a hands-on operation, not a white-label reseller.
- Luxury doesn't have to be expensive. You shouldn't have to choose between a candle that smells good and one you can actually afford.
- Every scent has a story. I don't chase trends just to chase them. I develop scents I'd actually want filling my own home.
